‘Jamais ngoul j'attends' is an absolute pleasure to listen to, in the Sentimental Raï genre. It was composed by the king of Raï love Cheb Hasni and released somewhere in his plethoric discography for a singer who tragically disappeared at the age of 26. Mohamed heard this track 'back in the day' : he was 9 years old when the tape was recorded in 1993. It was one of his musicians, Raphael Guattari, who reintroduced him to it in 2020 : it moved Lamouri deeply. A truly different production with a good synth wave background and a TR909 beat enhanced with a light digital reggae, resulting in a rather unusual mix. Lamouri cracks the drum machine and gives this song that new, extremely sensitive breath.
